Pará. Pensá. Conectá. / Stop. Think. Connect.

We live in a chronological time. We have a schedule. We have to do lists. We have a timeline to achieve objectives. Our work on our productivity is organized around a timeline. Things, activities, experiences, happening in a linear way. Past, Present, Future. What happens if life circumstances open up a door to live a different kind of time? A time in which we are not forced to live linearly but in which we can experience moments when the deep feeling of Here and Now can be achieved? When nobody will actually pass judgment about it. Quarantining. A time when, in chronological words, we can say that it’s all Present, or, in other words, that is all Past and Future. By the way, I believe both scenarios actually mean exactly the same thing. When we are saying that is All Present we are focusing on the experience we are having, and when we’re saying that the Present doesn’t exist we are focusing on a rational analysis of time where we believe the Present is unseizable.

Think about play, children’s space. When they are playing, kids live in this “seize the moment time” in which the pleasure of imagination, feelings, and connection with their inner lives is the norm. Or think about when we are making art, any kind of it, in which we are immersed in our task and the only time that counts is our internal disposition. Or think about us in quarantine because of coronavirus. We still have responsibilities, of course, but we have less tasks that fill our chronological time, so there is room for creation, if we allow ourselves. Connection. Awareness. Creativity. It is not a linear time. It is an “I am here” time. And I can also add, when was the last time you let yourself experience mental downtime? And did you surprise yourself with the feelings and thoughts that came out of it? Do your loved ones feel you are here, present?

And it all starts with the connection with our Self, and who we really are, our desires, our ways, our personal and unique temperament and character. Do you know who you are? Are you clear on what you want? On what you can give? On what you want to receive? On what makes you, You?

We move away from these thoughts in our lineal life. We just do it. Most of the times we do not even realize we are doing it. Now is the time you could stop. I mean, internally, you know…. Or are you still building a good, structured, specific schedule for yourself at home, all the time? What about trying to stop, think, reconnect, and go on…? Rest your mind and recharge it. If you try, probably that “going on” will look slightly, moderately, or very different from your Self before coronavirus.

It is realistically impossible to go back to the way things were before this whole experience, simply because from a rational perspective it is impossible to go back to a past as it was. Experience modifies experience that modifies experience, and so on. The way your life goes on during and after the pandemic experience depends a lot on your Self.

Just think about it.
